Ashers Hub
Case study · Ashers Hub venture

PakMango

A UK-wide direct-to-consumer Pakistani mango venture built and operated end to end by Ashers Hub.

Operating · seasonal · United Kingdom. An Ashers Hub venture, not client work.

The opportunity

Pakistani mangoes are a seasonal harvest product with a short window and a dispersed audience across the United Kingdom. The commercial question was whether that harvest could be reached directly by consumers, nationwide, without a physical retail presence.

The venture was built UK-wide from the outset rather than as a single-city trial, because the audience is not concentrated in one place.

Commercial direction

Positioning is built on access to a harvest and on seasonal availability, rather than on permanent stock. Varieties worked with include Sindhri, Chaunsa, Anwar Ratol, Langra and Dosehri; which of them can be offered depends entirely on the season.

The offer is direct to consumer, priced and presented as a seasonal product with a clear beginning and end to its availability.

What Ashers Hub developed

  • Commercial positioning and the seasonal proposition.
  • The online storefront and product presentation.
  • Stripe payment setup and checkout flow.
  • Order handling and day-to-day customer operations.
  • Packaging specification and fulfilment decisions.

Key decisions and constraints

  • Packaging uses honeycomb protection with Fragile marking, chosen because the fruit is delicate and the parcel is handled by a general carrier network.
  • Delivery experience to date has run through DPD and Royal Mail. There is no chilled or temperature-controlled delivery, no selected-date delivery and no guaranteed transit time.
  • Availability follows the harvest. When the season ends, the product is not substituted with something else.

What exists today

  • A live, operating storefront with payments, order handling and customer contact running through it.
  • A defined packaging and fulfilment approach that has been used in practice.
  • A seasonal operating rhythm: active during the harvest window, dormant outside it.

Current status

Operating · seasonal. The storefront, payments, order handling and fulfilment are live and have been used in practice; the venture runs during the harvest window and is dormant outside it.

Next milestone

Prepare the next harvest window: confirm variety availability, review packaging performance and refine the ordering experience before the season opens.
